Many competitors for Google are starting up, most of them don't have the PR capacities of Google, Yahoo or Microsoft Live Search. This Search Engines Network wants to equal their ability to reach the wider public.
http://www.earthfrisk.org/ is a very good search engine and it pemits users to claim there name. Besides the normal search result for your name, you get then the info you've been provided them with.
I simply love the concept. Please just look for Pieter Jansegers when clicking through... :-)

http://labs.systemone.at/retrievr/ is an experimental search engine allowing to search the web for images by providing a drawing or an image.
The scope of the project is still limited, but is it a promessing idea.
